10-minute writing assignment - Do this after reading the lesson:

Your character enters a house he or she believes to be haunted. Write the scene as vividly as possible. Make it really scary. Paint a picture in your reader's mind. But don't use any adjectives or adverbs. Make your nouns and verbs do all the work!

Optional: When you're finished, write a second version of the scene, adding adjectives and adverbs where you think they will intensify the reader's experience.
