Hi, my name is mervyn I am 63 with type 2 diabetes. Yes it stinks but instead of donuts I love ripe strawberries picked when they are warmed by the summer sun and the odd dried fig in the winter time. Get your folks to let you grow your own strawberries and forget donuts. My son laurie is now 25 and has struggled with diabetes since he was 11. He is now engaged to a lovely girl, writes superb stories and enjoys his life. Diabetes sucks but don't let it stop you having a great life. There will only ever be one of you and the world needs you. Great haiku conveys your feelings superbly.
