What Do You Remember?

by Lucy Ann Smith
(Kent, England)

Many people have a smell that captures their nostrils, giving them times to remember. Freshly mowed grass is one I remember. However, for me I favour the smell of onions.

So many times you use your senses in a lifetime. Just try to remember. Chicken curry, burgers, hot dogs, even spring onions. It reminds me of the classroom at school, food technology, the time I reached the warmth as I came from the cold weather as the smell of curry tantalized my taste buds and within that curry onions sizzled.

Chop, chop.

The scent grows stronger, eyes begin to water but still I remember.

What smells and times do you remember?
