Real Whodunits

They are in front of us all the time, TV, newspapers, Internet... unsolved crimes. I have found ideas from just listening to the news broadcasts. I always say, "I wonder why they did that?" or "How could a person be so cruel?" or "What made him snap?" and I'm off to the races.

A great source of creative writing ideas

This is a great source of creative writing ideas. I'm still waiting for someone to write a suspense thriller based on the O.J. Simpson case... I can also think of several novel ideas based on that case of the British girl kidnaped in Portugal several years ago, where the mother launched a huge press campaign to keep the investigation going and was later rumored to be herself a suspect...
