Swimming Pools in the Heat

by Kirstyanne Ross
(Manchester UK)

That smell reminds me of holiday. The smell of the pool outside the balcony doors, the chlorine in the air and the salt from the sea. Of changing into a sports bikini at six in the morning to go for a swim to wake myself up before strolling down the tourist packed street to look in the shops with my book and my MP3 player in my bag. Just in case I decided to stop for a drink and relax in the morning sun. The afternoon takes me back to the hotel and the pool to hide from the lashings of the midday sun before taking a shower and getting dressed up for tea in a local eatery.
